Wedding column with his hands
Greetings to all subscribers and visitors to the channel "Podelkin". Today I will share with you my first experience in making wedding columns (openwork pedestals). I was asked to make two triangular column height 1 m and a width of 40 - 45 cm for wedding shoots. The main task was, so they can be quickly assembled and disassembled, as they will often be transported in a car.
The first step was to create a template. The customer wanted to have a wall with monograms. Suitable image I was looking for on the site, which he wrote in the article "Where to find blueprints for cutting jigsaw?".A large collection of pictures with the monogram has been the social network Pinterest.
After selecting the desired pattern for the walls of the columns I sprained an image in Photoshop, proportioning, on required height of 1 m, the width 43 cm turned out that precisely corresponded to a predetermined width (40 - 45 cm). To print a large picture on the printer, I had to divide it into 10 pieces.
When the template was prepared, and began to saw sheets of plywood (thickness 10 mm) apart. In the last article we were discussing the topic "How to cut the plywood without chipping". For each column I did on three walls.
And two triangular cover with cut corners. On request made equilateral triangle (the length of each side of 58 cm with corners).
Once all the pieces were ready (6 and 4 cover the walls), I glued on the plywood template using masking tape and drill holes drilled 8 mm in diameter in all internal circuits, which will be Cut.
Then with the help of electric jigsaw I began to cut all the elements. For convenience, I have placed the plywood on two stools and secure it with clamps (stools with their hands for the home and garden). In the process, they can be moved and are easier to cut out the middle, placing the stools at the edges.
Thus, gradually moving from one side to the other, I drank an inner loop. The work was carried out intermittently to the jigsaw is not overheated.
When the first side is ready, I used it as a template for the production of the remaining 5 parts. To make it less chipping during sawing and see better picture, taped masking tape.
As a result, I got here such a wall (3 for each column).
Figure walls have the same, so can be cut out from two sides, after putting them on each other, but this requires a saw blade for cutting the figure, which can cut a thickness of 20 mm. I used saws Bosch T119 BO. Their maximum cutting depth of 17 mm, so each side sawed apart.
The next stage was the initial grinding, filling cracks in the knots and other defects, and final polishing.
In the end, I took up the most important task: to make all design folding. I had a lot of thoughts about this, but the final decision has become such a simple idea.
To the cover screws tightened little corners and against the walls of the inside of the metal plates by placing them under the washer. Thus the wall of a dress on the corners. Construction obtain stable and it can be quickly assembled and disassembled. For more information about bindings and how to be assembled / disassembled column, you can see in my video at end of article.
The last stage was the painting. Painted with two coats of acrylic paint using budget electric gun. ink consumption for each column received approximately 700 ml.
In the end, it turned out such wedding column. The customer was completely satisfied.
