Surface gauge of the planer. Photo report. Part 1

Earlier, I talked about his device, which allows a normal plane used as a marking gauge and jointer.

This article is the story of how this device was done.

Since the decision made under the concrete plane, the drawings I did.

It all started with templates. The task was to fix the plane in the piping and make another part, where the plane could be moved and fixed and vertically.

This is the template for the internal piping. Templates made from old Fiberboard - cut with scissors for metal. Although it was possible to make out of cardboard, corrugated or conventional - it is easier.

This pattern of external piping. He was supposed to be moving. Templates made markup and estimated how they will work.

Templates transferred on plywood 10 mm. Billets plywood glued together for double-sided tape to cut out immediately left and right sides. Also prepared bars 20h35 mm ~ for tying these parts together.

Before you cut out I drilled the necessary holes to match in doubles detail and even once to make slots on the Fraser.

Grooves made of 6 mm mill for 3-4 passes, so as not to overload the mill.

After that, I sawed jigsaw parts on the machine.

By the way the grooves can be done and jigsaws.

Next checked the internal arrangement will be attached to the planer.

Strapping front portion screwed into the screw fastening of the planer and spaced to the rear of and beneath the handle bar fastened planer.

After checking, I dismantled and began directing for external piping.

Guides made from 10mm plywood strips. I stuck them on the PVA and immediately checked as will walk the inner rail. We need to be tight, but without the extra effort.

On the inside of the inner piping pasted nuts to fix the external piping at the desired height. Nuts are glued on top of the groove.

Nuts are placed on the inside so that when tightening the lambs are pressed into the plywood.

That's how it should work: the upper rail of the guide is moved up and down and recorded lambs at the correct height.

Commit to obtain reliable. He squeezed with all his strength hand - failed to move.

Subsequently, the external piping will be based on a framework for the planing and plane respectively fixed at the desired height.
