Opt wall thickness. I thought everything would be easier ...

For me, it was the next question, after the choice of building material. And on this, too, had to think thoroughly.

It would seem, what to think? The thicker the better!

But, for me, is crossed by several factors, the basis of which I was to make a choice.

Thermal conductivity.

It was the first question.

The thermal conductivity of aerated concrete rules for my region, can be constructed from the block of 400 mm thickness, D400 density without additional insulation.

But, according to the examples of construction of houses, some make 300 mm with 100 mm insulation, that the thermal conductivity has the same performance.

Cracks and shrinkage cracks.

All this is connected with the preceding paragraph.

I admit, and most likely it can beThat shrinkage of the finished home may have small cracks in the vertical joints and hairline cracks in the block itself.

And here are two options:

  • During the construction without additional insulation, all the cracks are sealed with plaster (but it should be done on the outside and the inside), and ventilation by will not.
  • instagram viewer
  • If you insulate the wall from the outside, then the problem disappears, too.

And by comparing the volume of work with plaster and insulation (especially considering my "experience"), option with a smaller thickness of the block and an additional insulation, is more acceptable to me.

Dew point.

On this subject, I came across by chance, studying the processes of construction. Here I am I will bring the condensate which is formed in the wall by temperature drop in winter. Especially I will not go, there are two positions:

1. If the wall without insulation, then this condensate It formed in the Gazoblok, and the subsequent freezing destroying the wall.

2. If there is insulation from the outside, everything These processes occur in the insulationWithout affecting the load-bearing structure.

Of course, I think that the destruction of the block of the first embodiment is possible with a very sharp temperature jumps and on an extended period of time, in reality it is unlikely (talking about it and manufacturers aerated concrete), but to soothe the soul, the second option I like.

The working process.

Here I mean the difference in behavior between the 400th and the 300th block. The difference here is one - is the weight of the unit.

In my case, this is an important issueSince I have to work alone. And despite the fact that the weight of one block (on different data) 300mm thickness is 25-30 kg, and at a thickness of 400mm has 30-35 kg. my choice, too, is inclined to a smaller unit.

The issue of money.

I would not call it a major, but it applies to all preceding paragraphs.

Of course, you can try to calculate what is cheaper, but, as I knew from practice, accurate results fail.

here are more important to me matter of having finances at the moment.

Ie if I put a block of 400 mm, the right now I need all of the major investments.
And if you do the walls of 300 mm, the Now I need a smaller amountAnd have money on insulation then required(Maybe next year), while the unit is stand up and dry out.

It is in my financial situation, the second option was acceptable.

Fold all.

Considering all these factors, I decided to build a house from a block of 300mm thickness and D400 (This exterior walls and load-bearing partition).

These are the conclusions I did, it is interesting to hear your opinion.
