How to lower the groundwater level?
Despite all the advances in science and technology, this issue is still relevant for truckers and commuters. The high level of groundwater does not allow to equip specific types of foundation (FLFor example), do not give a cellar or basement at home, and also makes the soil viscous and unsuitable for growing certain plants.
There are two main ways to lower the groundwater at the site:
- Construction of a drainage outlet;
The easiest way to reduce the artificial ground water table - the use of drainage. The fact is that if placed horizontally in a highly watery collector in the form of perforated pipes, they will draw the water, thereby draining portion.
For the arrangement of such a manifold are well suited asbestos perforated pipe (photo 1), or corrugated perforated drainage pipe wrapped geotextile (photo 2).
- Construction of the reservoir
Reduce the amount of water in your area can help artificially created body of water: pond or ditch surrounding land on the perimeter. If your site is flat and the height difference is insignificant, it will help. The main thing is that the level of artificial reservoir was below the level of your site.
In order not to bother with the concrete work the bottom of the pond can be done naturally - from clay, pre-bred in the pond drainage pipe. This is done as follows: clay interfere with water to a consistency close to a viscous cream, and then laid on the bottom of the pond in future three layers of 10-15 centimeters each.
Clay first layer dries, and it is possible to stack a second, then - third layers. As a result, we obtain a total thickness of the clay of 35-40 centimeters, and that is enough to keep the water in the reservoir walls.
After drying the clay it is laid and compacted layer of pebbles, above - a layer of crushed rock or decorative stones.
