Any metallic tray requires the construction of a base. Most often used for this purpose usual red brick 24h12sm ordinary, which is set vertically. Silicate brick for this purpose is also suitable, but with it a lot of extra work. Its width is more and account for shear end, it does not protrude beyond a side of the pallet. Since the use of brick 12x12 cm, respectively glued tiles have such size and perhaps slightly larger due to the fact that the brick sits on the solution, which layer gives additional 5-10 mm. In my case used tiles 25x40 cm. It turns out this tile trim height was not necessary. If pruning does not scare you, then lining the curb under the pan, you can use any tile from 25 cm in height. Pruning is best bottom edge of the tile to the upper end of the factory remained. This is nice and safe. The height of the base of the case and another, for example, on the size of the tiles already purchased to avoid additional pruning operations. But me it was easier to glue the tiles corresponding to the size of the height of the brick.

A simple solution to the complexities

Since the semi-circular tray, had to think how to make so that the flat tile 25x40 cm lay on the radial or curving of the base arc. The fact that the whole tile to use does not work, it was clear from the beginning, the question was, what size cutting the strip to bend is smooth and in places the tile joints was not protruding and sharp corners.

The best option turned out to be a strip of 4-5 cm wide. For one whole tile 25x40 cm their turns 8-10 pieces. Cutting used a conventional manual tile cutter, then cut processed abrasive. In this case, the choice fell on a coarse emery paper of high quality grains from which escape is not as fast as on the cheaper counterparts.

Result

The result was quite satisfying as facing possible to avoid coarse angular forms and smoothly repeated bending of the pallet. The only caveat concerns the upper edge of the tile, which is almost in contact with the pallet. Sealing at this location over the entire radius is desirably carried out with silicone or other elastic and waterproof sealant, but not for grouting tile joints, or even a small vibration or temperature changes she soon disappear.
