Variants of the septic tank for your home. Which to choose?
I will not go into all the possible options of septic tanks for private homes. Show only the structure on which I stopped in the process of studying the subject and on the basis of examples of neighbors.
Perhaps the most common option - a septic tank of concrete rings:
Someone makes a one-chamber septic tank, but the deep foundation. Someone double chamber with overflow. But ideally, the best of the three. It ensures maximum water treatment:
You need access to each compartment for pumping sludge, organic waste. If two compartments represent a cesspools (solid waste for deposition), with overflow to the next. From the last compartment the water goes into the ground through the rubble.
Before selecting a septic tank volume must first consider water consumption in the building and understand whether septic cope with such a volume of water. Does it have to pump out every week, causing a "pumping out septic tanks." This will depend on the diameter, the number and cost of the septic tank.
Examples of the cost of a set of concrete rings for septic tanks:
Lots of ads from local producers
Plus the added cost of delivery and installation. And just before this - the work of an excavator (an average of 5 thousand. rub. / hour). The order price is understandable, although it may vary in different regions. Consider yourself the amount based on the selected volume of the septic tank.
It is believed that over time this type of septic tank turns into a cesspool, bottom silts up and the water does not go into the ground.
For improved water filtration interesting design cesspool here with this design:
At the bottom will accumulate sludge biological waste and the water will be filtered through the holes in the rings.
Another version of the sump, which for a long time (for reviews - many years) will not require the evacuation:
It is installed between the rings chamotte bricks (but better advance uploaded "cubes" high grade of concrete). Rings sprinkled with gravel on 1-2 meters. Such a cesspool will need to be pumped only from accumulated solid waste.
But I foresee downside of this design. Through these holes between concrete rings can get in the spring meltwater and flood for some time a septic tank. I'm so going to the toilet on my site. It did not help even a blind area around it. Because it is on a slope, the bottom portion, the meltwater from snow thawed falls through the upper hole in the ground.
It is clear that such construction of septic tanks and contaminate the soil biologically and may do so even with groundwater. I think sooner or later, environmentalists raise the issue, and in this area and take regulatory or even prohibited by law. Therefore, as a look into the future and a separate category of septic tanks - construction of a deep biological treatment, aeration.
Complex engineering system, often with the control system. Many manufacturers. Everyone says that its design is better and more effectively.
Seen reviews of the owners, when the system does not work effectively, there is smell. Still it requires continuous power from the power supply (compressor installed). And the cost of such installations is 2-3 times more expensive than structures made of concrete rings:
How often, in reality, you have to pump out a septic tank design?
It is clear that an economy version of the septic tank - is the choice of the construction of the concrete rings. In climates with winter temperatures to -50 c. there is no assurance that the septic tank with aeration will work effectively. But then why pay more?
What to tell the readers? What structures established? How often to pump out? It is interesting to hear the opinions of those who enjoyed some designs, one, two or three-chamber? Or maybe it will be opinions about the septic tank with biological treatment, aeration?
