How to make decorative surface "Washed concrete" technology in Thailand

When I was in Thailand, often across decorative surface with fractional natural pebbles. Basically - it's various paths, terraces, borders and cover the monolithic concrete. Several of my photos:

In the beginning, when I was not yet familiar with the technology of producing such surfaces - even I did not know how and with the help of which it was achieved.

But it turns out, their technology for producing such a decoration, has no relation to the one that I showed in these pages in the previous articles. All surfaces of the pebbles they receive no concrete setting retarder, a layer of concrete washing sponge.

At first gravel master kneaded with, as I think, tiled glue (probably for outdoor works) or qualitative composition of the plaster. If kneading with cement, the composition quickly grabbed it and do not have time to put on the surface.

In another bucket master kneaded plaster composition (in dark). Other brand or stronger.

Wetted concrete surface for better adhesion (to the concrete is pulled moisture from stucco with its set of strength) and a spatula does plaster composition (which, without gravel).

A small trowel smoothes the resulting surface forms the corners. Controls that would be left empty seats, and the whole surface was covered with roughcast.

Further soaked in water takes a sponge and gently washes the top layer of the plaster composition, exposing gravel.

The final surface. Looks very good. You can choose different color pebbles and zakolerovat plaster composition - and the different elements can be of different colors.

There was a thought. You can gel retarder concrete, apply a thin layer of spray or brush with no coarse bristles formed on a surface, to attach the polyethylene film (which is not evaporated moisture). By type as I did in the blind area of ​​the foundation. But there I used the wrapping paper sheets impregnated with a moderator and also was laying polyethylene.

What will it give? This will give a better flushing of concrete - Expose the lower layers of gravel in the structure and the surface will look entirely out of stone.

This technology will be of interest to those who are close to the career of the river (or sea) pebbles. We need a certain faction. You can do this yourself, using makeshift sieves of different mesh cell. Only two types of screens.
