Why is it necessary to install a heat pump for heating, if there is no mains gas

For the first time the heat pump heating subject of a private house, I met Victor Borisov blog in livejournal. Then I, like many of his readers was surprising that the house can be heated, air-conditioned. I knew that some models are capable of delivering heat to -5 m. But what would they heat the whole house and at -15... -20 grams. - I had never seen before. As it turns out - is it not a simple air conditioning.

Physics of a simple process. But, many still can not believe that this system can consume, for example, 2 kW / h of electricity, and deliver up to 12 kW of heat. A perpetual motion machine of some kind. Because they can not understand that the system is not isolated, that the equipment is due to the properties of Freon can pump heat from the surrounding area. Probably, they are surprised and fridge every day.

But enough of the lyrics, we turn to statistics.

In this article I will try to show the advantages of heat pumps and write why I plan to install a geothermal heat pump, despite its less fat: too high cost of installation.

IN instagram Victor Borisov met thermal design of various energy sources. It is understood that the heating trunk gas - the cheapest of the existing species in the country. But he is not everywhere. And where it is, its connection - a substantial sum, which may reach 250 thousand.

Heat pumps in Europe is widely implemented. But there is much softer climate, except for the countries of northern Europe - as can be seen, TN also found quite a few.

Set the heat pump (TN), especially compactor - not cheap. It costs hundreds of thousands of rubles. And sometimes up to a million in some companies. The cheapest option - "air-to-air." In the house of 120 m2 (of energy efficient materials) - up to 300 thousand. rub. TN is effective down to -25 c. Below: either disabled or COP is equal to 1 (that consumed, then cleared).

Indicators COP (Coefficient of Perfomance - energy conversion factor) some models TH "air-to-air":

COP = 4.02 at + 7 ° C
COP = 2.53 at a temperature of -7 ° C
COP = 2.06 at a temperature of -20 ° C

Compare the cost of heating from other sources.

Example TH "air-to-air" Victor.

Managing phone. Just see all the data including temperature, power consumption.

In addition to the heating value of the house, there is another advantage: no need to deal with the accumulation, transfer of solid and liquid fuels (coal, pellets, firewood, diz.toplivo, liquefied petroleum gas). And some have more and waste: ash. In old age, to be a fireman - not the best occupation. This should be remembered when you are going to live in his home and in retirement.

Winter - VT "air-air" heats. Summer - cool air conditioning. On the facade it does not take up much space.

TN device "air-air" and the cost of equipment (without ducts).

The main disadvantage in TN "air-air" (except the price) - a layout of the house duct. They will eat a lot of space under the ceiling. When properly designed and laid duct system does not noise. You can put TH "air to water" (for underfloor heating). However, this option is more expensive in equipment cost.

I think the ideal choice if very close to a river or lake... Suitable for the system "water-water" and the cost of laying and installation can - no big expenses. I propose to consider this and other types of TN:

The optimal solution for the cold climate - geothermal heat pump (GHP), which is suitable for even the northern and Siberian regions (but without permafrost). Is drilled system. Flowing through them in the IPA-tube heat transfer fluid, which evaporates the Freon in the TH. And that, in turn, condenses, transfers the heat to the coolant in the house. Per 1 kW of electricity consumed can be prepared up to 6 kW of heat. GRA for TH "air-to-air" shown above.

Geothermal TN - a "ground-water" or "water-water". An ideal option for their use - for heating homes heated floors.

Laying of heat exchanger tubes for soil TN. It is necessary to remove the soil below the depth of freezing, the pipe lay and bury back. This solution is not always effective in the winter, because depth of frost penetration in many regions of the Russian Federation - 2 m and deeper. In these regions more effectively apply the GHP system with wells.

Tying pipes HHP wells. The number of wells is calculated. If there is groundwater - that's a plus. With the underground water can take more heat. The probes are omitted from IPA-like tubes on the second slide.

TN Clay takes a lot of space. The cost of equipment is different. On average, 300 thousand. rub. Service - minimum. Of the major components required replacement compressor, after 15 years of operation cost 15-20 thousand. rub.

The minimum cost of ground works. Guaranteed in cold climates will only work well with GHP system. Second slide: a comparison of the cost of heating in different ways

If next to your house river, pond or lake, it is possible to make TH "water-water", plunging to the bottom of the heat exchanger. TN efficiency will increase if the coolant will need to be heated only to 35 degrees. (Heated floor), but not to 65 c. (Radiators).

The approximate cost of TN and their installation (excluding ground works). Yes, the initial costs are high. Even solid fuel boiler on carbon or pellets with the attachment assembly may require up to 300 thousand. taking into account the installation.

About ease of use - is written above. Perhaps it makes sense to overpay a little bit, but in 3-4 years the equipment will pay for itself and will continue to be only savings compared to other heat sources.

In summary:

  • Low heating value basis of 1 m2 and consumed electricity (slightly higher heating value gas trunk).
  • About ease of use - is written above. With this type of heating you are not wasting your time, efforts to move the fuel and waste, both for heating with solid fuels.
  • Environmentally friendly. No harm to the natural environment.
  • Low operating costs and minimal maintenance.
  • The compactness of the equipment.
  • A short payback period despite the high initial cost of expenses.
