Tile bath screen - a simple, budget solution
The tiled screen under the bathroom looks beautiful and makes cleaning easier. Before making it, I considered options from brick and drywall. There was only one stumbling block - how to provide access to the siphon?
White plastic hatch on top - collective farm. The invisible hatch does not fit into the layout and size of the tiles. Make a self-made revision on magnets? I decided to do it easier. I'm sure my experience will be useful to someone.
I don't like the embroidered seams in versions with quick access doors. Do you really need fast access here? Probably not. Emergency only. Therefore, the seams can be filled. From this and repelled.
I laid out a brick screen. Left a hole. Even two. Just in case - let it be. He oriented the holes so that they did not hit the tile seams.
Then I tiled the brickwork. No special frames, embedded elements, hidden hatches, etc. Just tiles. But he put her in a special way.
Two tiles to be glued at the revision sites are pre-prepared. Places of contact with the screen sealed with masking tape.
He wetted the back of the tile so that the tape would not be picked up. In fact, it was only glued to the front side.
Here's what happened after styling.
I waited a couple of days until the tile adhesive gains at least some strength. Unfastened the tape from the front of the tiles. I pulled on it a little and got access under the bath.
In the future, you can pull out the tile with any suction cup. Now it remains to fix everything.
I put the tiles back in and fouled. The tile adhesive has formed a perfect contact surface. The perimeter fugue keeps the tiles in place perfectly.
In the event of a leak or the need to clean the siphon, it is enough to expand the seam and pull the "tile hatch" towards you with a suction cup.
By the way, in the previous article I told, how to make a universal hatch for a penny that will hide communications in the toilet.
That's all for me. Thanks for reading. If the article was helpful, subscribe to the channel and of course put your thumbs up 👍.
