What is an Ecoblock and how is it good?
Recently came across an advertisement for a new building material called "ecoblock".
To be honest, I've already lost count of how many of these "innovative" materials I've reviewed, but still decided to make a small review for those who are thinking of what to build a house from.
By tradition, I'll start with the manufacturer's promises, and then move on to the characteristics of the building material.
1. Reading the manufacturer's tales
-
Eco-friendly. One of the safest materials.
Well, let's check -
Quiet and warm. The eco-block house has excellent sound insulation!
And we will find out - read customer reviews -
Precise geometry.
True, a very important point, and it's good that the manufacturer also understands its importance.
2. What does an ecoblock look like?
And here the fun begins!
In fact, it turns out that "ecoblock"- this is none other than our old friend - expanded clay block. Simply covered with a layer of decorative plaster on the outside and a layer of ordinary plaster on the inside.
In fact, an eco-block is even a hybrid of two other building materials, a kind of Frankenstein from:
- a heat block (from which the eco block received a facing);
- expanded clay block (it is the basis of the eco-block).
This means that all the assurances of the manufacturer about the innovativeness of the eco-block are nonsense, because there is nothing fundamentally new in it.
How are eco-block houses built?
I also did not find anything surprising about the construction technology from the eco-block:
- the foundation is poured (most often - a tape);
- a belt of solid brick is laid out (4-5 rows);
- a box from an ecoblock is placed with the beautiful side outward and white - inside the house;
- the roofing system is being mounted;
As you can see, there is nothing surprising.
But maybe it's the price of this material? Let's figure it out!
How much does an ecoblock cost?
The market average cost of one eco-block is 170 rubles.
For some reason, they are most widespread in Bashkiria (made in Ufa), Tatarstan (Nab. Chelny) and Mordovia (there is a plant in Saransk).
I can't say that the price is 170 rubles / piece. attractive, considering that inside the eco-block there is the same expanded clay block with plaster.
In my opinion, other material is much more profitable and reliable - gas block.
