The mistake 75% of aspiring designers make
I know that usually my subscribers do not particularly like articles in which I point out common mistakes of builders. Then in the comments I see a lot of negativity and doubts about the ability of modern builders to build quality housing.
This pleases, because it means that my audience is thinking!
But nevertheless, today I will again point out one common jamb that I meet in 3/4 of the sketch projects of country houses and apartments.
I'll make a reservation right away, the error is not fatal. I would attribute it to the convenience of the residents (as it is now fashionable to say "usability").
But first, try to look with your own eyes at the sketch project and guess what the designer's mistake is:
If you sin on the inconvenient arrangement of the bedrooms on the sides of the bathroom, then no, you are mistaken. This is not the point.
The main mistake of the designer in this case is that the doors of the bathroom open inward.
Why is it wrong?
There are at least two reasons for this:
- it is unsafe - if suddenly a person in the bathroom becomes ill and loses consciousness, then falling down, he will press the door with his body. It will be impossible to open it without harming the lying one. And every minute can be weighty!
- this limits the area of the bathroom. Look, there is a corner bathroom with a toilet, a sink and a boiler huddled on 6 squares! But the owner of the house will definitely want to put at least one cabinet with bathroom accessories in the bathroom. And the door "eats up" the space.
Just in case, I highlight the mistake made and urge you not to do it!
P.S.: I know that opening the doors of utility rooms is not standardized, and I urge you to think a little wider than SNiP requires.
