Why are spots (spotlights) better than ordinary chandeliers?
In matters of choosing lighting for an apartment or a country house, it is better to focus not on traditions, but on science.
For decades, the light source in our apartments was a chandelier: bulky, with the indispensable incandescent bulbs of the E27 base and always in a large lampshade that only conceals the light.
As a result, the chandelier gave a modest spot of lighting and only directly under the place where they were installed. In the kitchen, the dining tables and wall cabinets remained dark.
Today, it is better to use spotlights or spots for lighting. They are more economical, can rotate on two axes, and illuminate the area that is important to you.
In the case of the same kitchen, you can direct the spot to the bar counter, cooking surface, sink, etc.
Using chandeliers in the 21st century is like burning torches to illuminate a hut.
- A chandelier is more expensive both in cost and in energy consumption;
- The chandelier eats up the height of the room (actual in Khrushchevs);
- Shades are difficult to clean from dust;
- Plafonds extinguish the light, and dark corners appear in the room;
