And what do you treat tomatoes for diseases? The question is so interesting that I hasten to answer
I noticed that there is a different attitude to diseases,
even human,
even tomato.
Some people are sure that diseases are inevitable, so they need to be treated.
Others believe that illness is not the norm, you need to raise immunity, prevent epidemics.
I belong to the latter. I treat tomato diseases when they have not yet entered into force.
I will describe four principles prevention of diseases that I am guided by. The topic is complex, believe me, it makes sense to read it to the end.
For example, late blight
We had late blight once in the open field after heavy rains. It was useless to treat. Now I try to plant all the tomatoes in the greenhouse. Is this a cure? No. My favorite prevention.
Principle # 1: DON'T DISSOLVE THE ELEMENTARY
I ventilate to the maximum, even on cool nights, water in moderation.
Principle # 2: EXPLORE AND CONQUER
In the spring I disinfect the greenhouse with Pharmayod. It kills all bacteria and fungi that come across. The good and the bad. Not 100%, but still there is an effect.
Only the walls and the roof of the greenhouse on both sides are mine with a solution of pharmaco, or I spray it. I try not to get on the ground. Because she inhabited it with mushrooms from pests, Metarizin. Iodine would have killed them. And the hay stick that lives in the hay (mulch) is dear to me. And let the other small underground and ground workers (fungi and bacteria) live.
Principle # 3: PLANT GOOD
This also applies to microflora.
A week after the farmayod, I start to water the soil weekly with all kinds of available bacteria and fungi that I have, I mix. And first of all, Flora C (humic acids), it can be used at positive temperatures on a cloudy day, once a week.
More
This is not enough to prevent the appearance of late blight. When it is cold, heavy rains, I plan to close the greenhouse during the day, let it steam a little, phytophthora will not survive. And the adults are tenacious. I learned this method only this year. Not useful yet, but I armed myself with it.
The method fits into principle # 2: EXPLORE AND CONQUER.
Conclusion: late blight is not omnipotent, the main thing is to prevent it from multiplying.
What drugs do I use for diseases (principles No. 2 and No. 3)
I will say the following about drugs. There are many analogues. On no light did not converge like a wedge. Therefore, I evaluate all the bacteria and fungi that I see on sale from the point of view of the action I need.
For example, Trichoderma Veride is sold freely, inexpensively, I use it. It acts as a natural antibiotic against pathogenic microflora. It also destroys a good one, so I use this drug only with dangerous signs. There are many more similar ones, sometimes I came across, bought. I bypass some because of the price. For example, a very expensive MIKORAD. It contains other strains of the trichoderma fungus and humic acids. But 390 p. for 50 g... Well, expensive! There are Trichoderma, Trichodermin, Trichoplant, etc.
My assistants Glyokladin and Trichocin SP also belong to trichoderms. They are introduced only in the root zone, suppressing rot. The rest of the soil lives its own life.
The rest of the bacteria and fungi are not as omnivorous as Trichoderma. The packages say several diseases that the drug prevents. This type of my constant assistants Alirin B, Gamair, Fitosporin - they are all hay sticks, different strains. Baikal EM-1 is being manufactured under other names. Radiance. I repeat, the light did not converge on them, there are analogues.
Made Bessarab's solution. I have thought of something else in this direction, I will write soon.
Principle # 4: MAKE FOOD TIME AND AVAILABLE
When tomatoes lack some element or water, they say that this is not a disease. And in people it is called a disease, anemia, for example. An excess of nutrients is bad again.
Very serious for tomatoes:
- Lack of calcium - apical rot
- Lack of various microelements - different spots, chlorosis, fewer fruits
- Excess nitrogen - fattening, infertility
- Lack of nitrogen or potassium - fewer fruits
Etc. A disease is not a disease, but what to do about it? Most often, there are all elements in the soil, in excess, but in an inaccessible form.
Weaving of the Black Earth Region (humates) visually improves the picture. I liked it very much. After watering, tomatoes immediately begin to bloom profusely, tie, delight. At the end of the season, do not water it, the fruits will not have time to ripen.
This year I have stored up various bacteria, several drugs. Here is another untested portion for solving this particular problem: how to feed tomatoes to their fill:
There is also a problem: all trace elements compete with each other. For this reason, I try not to add fertilizers with sodium and ammonium and chlorine.
I like foliar feeding. This is an ambulance for a shortage of elements, they immediately go to the place and 90% are absorbed.
So how do I treat tomatoes? Every week or two I water or spray with useful things. As people are healthy, so are tomatoes.
What principles do you follow when growing tomatoes?
I would be grateful for your subscription and communication :)
