I reinforce the floor and connect it with the rafters into one piece. Everything with one detail.

The hardwood floor in my house is an ambiguous design. And many probably think that it has already collapsed. But no, it is worth, however, some enhancements, I prepared for him.

When I wrote two articles about how my overlap was done, many readers began to write in the comments that this is a huge mistake.

Who cares about these:

And I, already tired of explaining to people that this was not its final version. But, apparently, everyone sees only their own truth ...

And I continue to do my plans. And that's one of the stages of strengthening my hardwood floor.

When the roof is covered, you can do such modifications, simple but important.

❗ There is nothing innovative here, but there will be some peculiarities.

For such an overlap from boards, like mine, cross-braces are used for reinforcement.

✅In my case, I decided not only to tie the floorboards with them, but also to attach to the posts.

Here's how it happened.

In this version, the floor, posts, and rafters become one and work together.

The main thing in this business is one important thing:

❗ Tight pressing of elements. Therefore, I sawed off each transverse insert after installing the previous one, and did not mark everything at once. And he did it with a plus margin. Therefore, every detail had to be hammered into place, but such a tight connection would work much better.

Well, everything was done in a checkerboard pattern, in order to pierce everything with nails from the end.

In my opinion, this is a great solution.
