Doorway without lintel, without corner, without dressing. And everything hangs on the foam.
This is not a list of building bugs. This is a specific description of how I made the partition in my house. And I'm sure that's okay.
Some of my readers say that I do everything not according to the rules on purpose, so that later there will be something to write about... 😊And the truth of such controversial decisions at my construction site has already accumulated a lot.
But to be honest, I'm not doing this on purpose. It's just that in every decision at my construction site, I want to understand and understand what I am doing.
Although I may not understand something ...
So while making a partition, I wanted to realize what each element is for there.
About the decision to use aerated concrete 100 mm, and not brick, I wrote in this article. And today I will explain my strange decisions in the design of doorways.
Ligation of blocks.
This is the backbone of the basics, in the laying Especially in the span over the openings. But this is important in structures that carry at least some kind of load.
In my case, the span consists of one row of masonry, which must hold itself and that's it. Therefore, I did it as it was convenient: without unnecessary cutting, and it turned out so that without bandaging.
Jumpers.
"Well, okay, there is no dressing, but you reinforce everything with jumpers, at least with a metal corner." - Many will tell me... But this is not in my design either.
- Firstly, the foam itself, on which I laid the masonry, perfectly holds the blocks.
- Plus the door frame that will be installed will provide sufficient support for lightweight blocks with a thickness of 100 mm.
But he started up one armature.
Only on top of the entire structure. And this grout bar will give extra grip.
So there is no need to do extra work where it is simply not needed.
Although maybe this is just my opinion ...
