Two windows per floor. Thought that extra windows
Everybody puts panoramic windows on almost every wall, but I didn't want to. And the lighting turned out "like in a bath". What now to cut through the windows, or is it not so scary?
This question comes to me every time I enter my house under construction.
I'm already wrote an article, about why I decided to put relatively small windows in my house. And the main reason is the desire to reduce heat loss (although now I understand that this is not a panacea).
But I ended up with a different problem.
Everyone understands that the size of the windows also affects the lighting in the house. Since I have lived all my life in an apartment, the usual size of the window is familiar to me. But in the house they look very different.
And if on the first floor it is still more or less, due to their number, then with the attic, I specifically missed.
✅These two windows are all the lighting that is there. 🤦♂️
On the second pediment, I decided not to make windows at all.
I hoped that from the other side the light would penetrate from the first floor, since there will be a span, without overlap. But so far, I do not see such an effect.
Although this span is also temporarily closed by decks on which you can move.
But the fact that there is little light is a fact.
Of course, everyone will now begin to advise me to install roof windows. But I don't really want to mess with it.
Considering how many nuances came out at the seemingly simple stages of construction, the device of these windows will bring me quite a few problems. And this is still a roof ...
It seems to me that there are several solutions to the problem:
1. Artificial lighting.
✅ It is possible to look for an economical and practical light source that will compensate for this lack of natural light.
A friend installed light with motion sensor, Smart Light kind of called. Says works without wires or batteries, powered by solar energy; besides, it turns on only when there is movement, and not just like that, it is also easy to attach to any surface
Threw off a photo of my lamp
He says they have a discount on the site now and are selling much cheaper than when he bought. Gave me a link, if someone is interested, I will leave it here.
2. "Cut through" a couple more windows.
Just in that solid pediment.
In aerated concrete, this will not be a problem, and it can be done even later, after finishing and some real operation of the house.
3. To score on everything and enjoy life ...
It is this option that I am currently using. So far successful 😁.
What else remains??? The main question to be solved ...
Suggest your options in the comments. Maybe there is something that I have not thought about.
subscribe to the channel and like it 👍. I'm going to close these windows soon. I feel that the story will work out too.
