Burying my homemade septic tank. Water, quicksand and working with one shovel. How did I deal with this?

In any new business, the unknown is most frightening. But sometimes it plays into the hands. Sometimes it's better not to know what you will face ...

My freshly poured concrete septic tank has already been infused for several days and it's time to bury it.

How the filling was made, read here:
Formwork for a septic tank. I thought I had made the most reliable structure, but again I miscalculated. I am telling you the nuances.
The neighbors thought I was building a pool, but it turned out to be a toilet 🤣. I removed the formwork from the septic tank, and carefully examined this miracle.

There is nothing tricky, know to work with a shovel.

And everything went on like that, the first 20 cm... And then water began to arrive actively.

And not just ooze, but beat with many small streams. It was not at all easy to dig sand and water, and also to raise all this to the level of the head.

A pump came to my aid.

I was afraid that he would not have time to pump out the water.

But in fact, everything turned out great. Pumping out the excess water, I could easily remove a whole layer on the bayonet of the shovel (although the sand was very damp and it was not easy to work).

But in the end, an unpleasant surprise awaited me.

When the sewer pipe from the house approached its opening in the septic tank, the adventure began.

It was no longer enough to simply pump out the water. Now the water and sand have become one mass.

I'm not sure, but it looks like quicksand. Of course, I did not fall into it up to my knees, but the septic tank itself began to sit in this slurry, and I simply did not have time to get the soil.

At the same time, in addition, it began to wash out the sand from the outside of the septic tank, inside. And it was impossible to fight this, especially alone.

Fortunately, there was no need to go further.

✅ But now another task lay ahead: prevent the septic tank from swimming with sand from the inside, and most importantly, with all this situation, fill the bottom.

Well, how I dealt with this, read in the following articles ...
