Unabi - dates grow in Krasnodar
Thanks to dacha tourism I got acquainted with an exotic tree - nabi. It is the Chinese dates, jujub, ziziphus and many other names, each nation has its own ..
If I had not been warned that this is a very good tree, the fruits are delicious, I might not have noticed it. This is how unabi looked modest on August 9, 2020 at a dacha in Krasnodar:
Unabi fruits will ripen by the beginning of November
Of course, I got interested and learned a lot of interesting things about this exotic tree for us. Jujub is considered subtropical.
I found a photo of ripe fruits on the Internet. They come in different shapes and colors, similar to those found. There is a very small bone inside.
The unabi tree is tall, it can grow up to 15 m:
Most of all I liked these qualities of unabi:
- The taste of dates (when slightly soaked)
- Does not get sick and is not affected by pests without spraying
- Dry matter in fruits is almost half of the mass, i.e. very nutritious, healthy and tasty dates, only small
- Withstands drought, as it has a very developed root system
- It is enough to plant 1 tree, no pollinator is needed
- It blooms late, so it doesn't get frozen, there is a harvest every year
- If the fruits are not removed in time, then they begin to dry out, turn into dates right on the branches
- They remain tasty and edible for a long time, even in the cold.
They write that Ziziphus supposedly forms a lot, in this case there was no growth.
Unabi has very unusual properties, for example:
- Lives up to 250 years, grows slowly
- At the beginning of flowering, unabi leaves contain more vitamin C than fresh lime fruits
- If you chew on a leaf, you will not distinguish between sweet and bitter for half an hour.
- Silkworms are bred on the Ziziphus tree, and silk of improved quality is obtained
- Heals the air around him, like conifers
- It has a valuable hardwood, heavy, durable, bright yellow in color with a deep red core. Well polished.
Unfortunately, you cannot plant it in Kursk, frost resistance up to -23 ° С.
Did you know that there is such an interesting tree?
I would be grateful for your subscription and communication :)
