Marigolds to help with eye disease. Preparing a healing tincture
Many summer residents and gardeners grow marigolds to decorate their flower beds and flower beds. Also, these flower crops are planted in the aisles where vegetables grow, because Chernobrovtsy or Tagetis (as these flowers are also called) drive away harmful insects with their smell.
But many are not aware of the healing properties of this flower culture. Marigolds help to improve the health of the skin, eyes, and normalize the functioning of internal organs.
My grandmother always made a tincture of these flowers because she suffered from an eye disease. Yes, and I have had myopia since childhood.
It's all about lutein (a pigment), which is good for the eyes, this substance is found in these plants. This carotenoid does not belong to vitamins, but its benefits are not diminished in the least.
The role of lutein
Most often, visual acuity falls from a lack of lutein in the body. In addition, it acts as an antioxidant; the latter protects against oxidative reactions in the eyeball.
These negative processes that take place in the eye can lead to clouding of the lens, decreased vision. Lutein is not produced in the body; it comes there mainly from plant foods. But this substance is also in chicken yolk.
The daily requirement for lutein is 5 grams per person. To do this, you need to eat 5 chicken yolks or 2.5 kg of carrots. Agree that this is almost impossible and impractical.
Marigolds are in the forefront in terms of lutein content. To provide a person with the daily need for lutein, it is enough to consume 1 gram of petals, which are pre-dried. The darker the tagetis variety, the more lutein it contains.
How to correctly prepare marigolds for medicinal purposes
Flowers need to be collected, separated from the green cup with a knife or hands. The petals need to be dried. They can be used as a seasoning for meat and fish dishes.
An infusion of flaxseed (olive) oil with marigold petals will also be useful. To prepare the product, you need to take a half-liter jar and fill it to the top with marigolds. The material should be filled with oil, left for no more than seven days in a dark and cool place.
Next, the finished infusion must be filtered with gauze; it is necessary to use the medicinal oil within 2 weeks. It is enough to eat 1 tsp. l. blends to support the health of your eyes and your overall well-being.
In any case, in case of eye disease, a visit to a doctor and his consultation is required!
