I forgot to drain the tree sprayer for the winter. Now we have to repair.

Prehistory

I upgraded my sprayer. The fact is that I am allergic and there is no way that chemicals get into my face. And all conventional sprayers have a short handle.

I am surprised how people work with them, what a disregard for their health! They stretch their hand with the sprayer away from their face, but for the wind it is a laugh, a moment - and all the nasty on the face.

Even though I choose calm weather, and I have my own device, I still observe where the spray is directed. There is almost always air movement.

The essence of modernization

When we bought the sprayer, the first thing I did was lengthen the handle. Now it is not one and a half meters, but six meters.

• I bought a telescopic rod.
• I put a ring on each knee. Such rings are already installed on modern fishing rods at the factory. And before thirty years ago they had not yet been installed. And the telescopic fishing rod was in short supply.

• I missed the instrumentation tube into these rings. In those years, one could get one at factories by pull. The diameter of this tube fits perfectly on all gaskets on all sprayers.

With such a sprayer, you can reach the very top of the tree. Or walk in the garden and spray the bushes at a great distance from you. Not afraid that you will poison yourself.

The rod folds for storage and takes up little space. Therefore, a telescopic was taken. It would be possible to take a bamboo one, but it would be more difficult with it. And bamboo links are longer.

Repair itself

The tube was of high pressure, so it was squeezed out of the handle (I didn't drain the liquid for the winter), but it didn't rupture. He unscrewed the clamping sleeve, inserted a tube through it into the handle and tightened the clamp.

A rubber ring on the bypass valve broke from old age. There was nothing to replace, I had to put a bolt with a tapered head. I pulled it in, and the air stopped leaving. But now you need to be careful not to exceed the permissible pressure. Probably I'll put a pressure gauge instead of a valve.

Then he bent one ring and put it where it was missing. Now everything is included. When I did everything, I checked it in work. It turned out that the passages in the spray gun were clogged.

Disassembled and cleaned it with a pointed match, washed. Now everything works, the pressure is not released. It remains not to forget to drain the solution for the winter.
