An experiment to simulate living in a Martian crater started in the desert of Israel

From the beginning of this week in the southern part of Israel, namely in the crater of Ramon, an experiment started in during which five men and one woman for three weeks will be on this territory. At the same time, an imitation of living in a Martian habitation module will be simulated.

Scientists from Australia, Germany, the Netherlands, Israel, Spain and Portugal are taking part in this experiment. The entire experiment was organized by the Israel Space Agency, in which the European Space Agency, the Australian Space Forum, and the D-MARS group participated.

So during the experiment, scientists isolated on the "Martian" base will have to conduct experiments and various experiments.

The participants of the experiment will spend time in the AMADEE-20 module, and outside the module "Martians" will wear special imitation spacesuits, as well as test each other for mental stability.

So the organizers of all this experience believe that all the errors that will be revealed directly on Earth will allow them to be prevented in the future directly on Mars.

This is the second time the experiment has been carried out in this place. The first was held in 2018 and was attended by four men and two women.

The current mission was supposed to start back in 2020, but due to well-known world events, the residence of people in the Martian living module AMADEE-20 had to be postponed.

It is assumed that the first real flight to Mars should take place after 2030, but scientists are already actively preparing for the upcoming flights and the development of the Red Planet.

Well, the current living module with an area of ​​120 square meters is currently the most modern and as close as possible to the real Martian module. The participants in the current experiment are under the vigilant control of a dozen cameras, all important parameters are read by special biosensors.

But the main thing in the current experiment is precisely the psychological component. Observers will keep track of where people mostly gather, how they spend their free time, etc. All of this is important for future missions.

Well, mankind is getting closer to its first manned Mars flight. In the meantime, we will observe the progress of the experiment, and see if the "Martians" will be able to get along in a closed and isolated space.
