A Swedish family has come up with an unusual way to save on heating their home

On the eve of the heating season, he began traditional monitoring of the Internet for the emergence of new tricks that help save on heating his country house.

I haven't found any innovations or scientific breakthroughs yet, but here's a curious example from our northern neighbors that interested me.

I saw a story about a Swedish family that literally surrounded their house with a greenhouse. From the very bottom to the ridge of the roof, the house is placed in a natural greenhouse. This is how it looks in real life:

Thanks to such an expensive, but self-sustaining building envelope, most of the heat that comes out of the house remains in the greenhouse. And the wind does not care for this house now.

With good quality glazing, on a sunny day, the space between the house and the glass should warm up decently, maybe even to summer temperatures. On these days, the family can simply open the door and get the summer heat from outside the house.

The only modification I would make is to sheathe the house with a matte black profiled sheet on the south side. It would turn out to be a real solar collector, and on a sunny day the temperature in the greenhouse could reach 80-90 degrees Celsius.
