I made a brazier from an old expansomat: I share a photo
Surely you have a lot of iron lying around on your site, which is a pity to throw away, but which your hands cannot reach. Personally, we have such "deposits" in bulk on our site.
The old expansomat (expansion tank) also waited a long time for its fate. I waited. I made a round barbecue with a lid out of it. I show:
First of all, I sawed the tank in half. It is not difficult to do this with a grinder with a 2.6 mm metal cutting disc (according to experience, Bosch discs cut best of all).
The expansomat has an advantage - it already has legs (it stands conveniently) and there is a huge hole from below (count it as a blower).
I measured the diameter of the tank and cut a circle out of sheet iron - the future bottom of the barbecue.
I installed the bottom on steel pins, which I passed through the tank in three places. The studs are about 25 centimeters long and are secured with nuts.
The bottom is almost perfect - there are few gaps, "sits" in the tank confidently. But how will the air flow to the coals? We need to make holes, I decided ...
I drilled holes in the bottom for vertical thrust and in the side of the barbecue for horizontal.
The tank is good. I slightly modified it: I made cuts for laying skewers and a horizontal steel bar. For beauty and greater ventilation, I made a slot in the form of a house.
I can't wait for the rain to end and we can test the grill in action. Sitting near the barbecue in the evening and admiring the blushing coals and listening to their measured crackling is one of the delights of the summer cottage.
What do you think can be improved in my grill?
I will be glad to criticism in the comments
