Time to harvest dandelion roots
Dandelion root is usually harvested at the end of September. But this super warm fall is possible in mid-October.
You need a main root without side roots:
The composition of the roots is richer than that of many vegetables, while being unique. I will not bother you with the names of chemicals, I will go straight to the benefits.
What is treated with dandelion root
It is a diuretic, choleretic, diaphoretic, mild laxative and sedative.
Dandelion root tincture regulates blood sugar and insulin levels in diabetes mellitus, lowers blood pressure.
It is an immunomodulator with anti-inflammatory action. And an antioxidant that strengthens bone tissue.
Sap from the stem and when cutting the root treats skin conditions including lichen, eczema and boils.
Reduced acidity of the stomach, colitis, constipation also heals dandelion root.
There is a study by Canadian scientists in 2011: dandelion root extract induces the death of melanoma cells.
And scientists from New Mexico have proven that this extract destroys breast cancer cells.
Dandelion root is also used in cosmetology.
