Olive oil on store shelves is on the top shelves because it is not a hot commodity. Why? Because the price for it is absolutely crazy - 5 times more expensive than sunflower oil.
The photo shows that sunflower oil is sold for 109 rubles per liter, and olive oil - 499 rubles. But still, quite a few shoppers reach these top shelves and buy olive oil. After all, they say that it is very useful and much more useful than sunflower. Do you feel sorry for any money for health?

The main indicator of the usefulness of any vegetable oil is the content of polyunsaturated fatty acids in it. They help to increase immunity, prevent the development of tumors, and so on. In short, they are all good. Now let's see which vegetable oil contains more of these acids.
It turns out that the maximum amount of these polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs) is in flaxseed oil. Russian linseed oil.
Further, in decreasing order: soybean oil, rapeseed oil, cottonseed oil and then sunflower oil. It contains about 50% of these nutrients. But olive oil contains only 10% of them.

The fact is that at high temperatures, polyunsaturated fatty acids are destroyed and converted into toxic oxidation products, into poisons for the body. And the more of them in the oil, the more of these toxins. This means that olive oil comes to the fore here precisely because it contains the smallest amount of PUFAs. It is best to fry on it. Although it is even better to fry in solid vegetable fat, despite the anti-advertising of this traditional Slavic product for frying.
What kind of oil do we buy
We are constantly buying olive oil for frying. Of course, it is not always possible to buy a real one, then we take a simple one.
But when real Greek olive oil appears in tin containers, 5 liters, we only take it. It is even olive in color. And does not smoke at all when frying.
This oil in a tin can has a special double sealing system, a convenient pouring device. We store it in the cellar, pouring it into a half-liter bottle for oil for consumption.
Of course, I understand that frying is harmful. But I can't retrain my men, so I choose the lesser of evils - I fry in olive oil.
And, of course, I always have a bottle of flaxseed oil, very healthy and tasty, with which I dress salads and vinaigrette. I also use it as a face mask several times a month.
