Some building materials are trying to "push" into every place... But at my construction site, I'm used to making decisions myself.

Greetings friends. Today's article is a continuation of the story about arranging an insulated blind area around my house.

Read about everything that I have already done at my channel.
I don’t understand why these expensive, "pimply" membranes are needed? I make the simplest waterproofing for the blind area.

❗ After laying the insulation, it's time to waterproof.

Studying this question, I, as always, fed knowledge from the Internet. And I discovered an interesting thing ...

Now there is a wave of using a profiled membrane.

Roughly speaking, it is a plastic material with "bumps". And I've seen many examples of its use, both by professionals and amateurs. This may be a good thing ...

But is it needed in the blind area?

Looking at how much this "miracle" costs, I was a little shocked ...

✅ The cheapest option I've found is this is 5000 per roll 2 by 20 m. If you make a blind area of 1 m, then just enough for my house (9 by 9 meters). But the price is too high.

Perhaps it has some kind of unrealistic service life, and increased strength. Or... what else could be?

It's just waterproofing - a normal water barrier.

Perhaps in some "extreme" conditions this is advisable, but in my version, when waterproofing fits already on sheets of expanded polystyrene, which itself is waterproof, you just need an additional insurance.

So I decided to use the classics.

Regular glass insulating rolls will be the most suitable option. And the price even more.

Expenses, about 2000 rubles for my house.

There were no problems with styling either.

  • Unrolled the roll and laid it as needed.
  • At the joints, I simply melted it with a burner, and glued the pieces.
  • And glued to the wall of the foundation with bitumen mastic.
Honestly, this is not the best option. It will be much more convenient with a bituminous primer. And I, as always, fiddled with what was available.

But in the end, the main thing is the result.

The foundation is insulated and protected from water - this was the main goal at the moment. And with the final finishing will be dealt with later.
