Liquid WD-40 at one time became an excellent assistant when loosening rusted bolts and nuts. Today people spray it wherever they go, and then they are surprised:

- “Once a month I“ lubricate ”the chain on a children's bicycle, why did it wear out over the season?”

I am silent about the windows. If you hadn't "lubricated" them, the service life could be twice as long.

Understand that VDeshka is a good rust converter and cleaner, but a lousy lubricant.

WD-40 liquid is useful in everyday life:

When you need to unscrew a rusted nut or revive an icy lock - take VDeshka. It eats away rust and ice, displaces moisture from the mechanism. The castle no longer freezes. In other cases, the WDshka washes away the old grease and parts wear out intensively. They must be additionally lubricated!

A product that really lubricates

I am sure everyone is familiar with the classic solid oil (Litol-24). Here are just a thick red "ointment" to use in everyday life is not very convenient. The composition is more suitable for cars and other equipment. The door hinges with reddish-black smudges of grease look too shabby.

At home I use lithium grease in an aerosol can. It is convenient to use, and it performs its function (a noticeable layer of grease remains on the surface). I lubricate everything in the house with aerosol lithol: locks, hinges, window, furniture fittings, etc. Except for one item.

Rubber seals are used in modern windows. Did you know they need to be lubricated too? No grease seal freezes to the frame and when opening torn.

And rubber dubs over the years. It ceases to adhere tightly to the surface. There is increased noise and blowing. It is possible, of course, on the advice of the installers, to permanently transfer the window to the "winter" state. But only if you don't mind the fittings.

I prefer to lubricate the seals in the fall. If we use lithol, every time we open the window we will get dirty. For this case, I have silicone grease in my arsenal. It dries up, forms a dense protective film and does not smear.

Yes, locks, hinges and everything else can also be lubricated with silicone. But you need to do this more often. Repetition is the mother of learning: WD-40 is not a lubricant!
