I planted these petunias in 1 day, where is the difference
Petunias grew in self-sowing garden. Finally, I chose the day, got to them and seated them where the place was. At first, she carefully dug up and transplanted immediately with good watering. And she pulled out the last like weeds, without a clod of earth, and stuck them into a trench. Sprinkled. Here they are, the last (took 3 photos in one day):
The ground was wet and I didn't even water them right away. Why did they turn out to be the best?
Just look at what the others are:
And even worse:
Likewise, the soil regularly dried out in the pots.
Thank you very much for these self-seeding, I understood what the reason is, and it will benefit all our future flowers.
The point is insufficient watering when planting in rapidly drying soil. The more dry it is, the sooner seed formation will begin, and it cannot be stopped. After such a sight, you cannot forget to water. And in the place where the beauties of petunias are growing now, there is more natural moisture. From the roof of the cellar. Plus the sun dries less, watered the same way.
Vera Petrova Vod's commentary under this article
Vera grew petunias of the same batch as me, Ninya. But she had no problem with early insemination. Although she planted on March 19, and I on January 4, her petunia was beautiful in mid-September, six months after sowing, mine was already all in seeds after such a period. Lack of watering!
Petunias went according to the breeding program, and neither pruning nor watering could stop this process. Earlier, it made sense to cut, I realized late.
Conclusion: for long-term lush flowering, do not plant petunias in places where the soil will dry out quickly. Or constantly running around with a watering can or sprayer.
Has this ever happened to your flowers?
I would be grateful for your subscription and communication :)
