Before insulating the roof, I decided to start overlapping. The reasons for this decision, and the first steps.
I didn’t understand before, why are these ropes under the insulation? The time has come, and I am doing it myself.
Friends business is moving forward. And now it’s time to start overlapping in my house.
Let me remind you that I am so smoothly approaching the insulation of the attic roof. And before doing this, I decided to deal with the overlap,
- Firstly, time still allows.
- But the main thing is not to be afraid of falling between the boards, but to work calmly with the roof.
While my floor is just laid boards, and even then not everywhere. So it is simply impossible to move around there calmly.
But there are also many stages in the overlap.
Vapor barrier, noise insulation, rough boards, and OSB sheets. It seems that the list is small, but according to the experience of the previous stages of construction, you should not relax. Even preparation takes time.
For starters, I removed all unnecessary things.
There is a "second light" (or something similar) in my ceiling. This span was closed with a temporary overlap. Although I will still need it later, now it needs to be removed.
Then the ropes went ...
Before laying the soundproofing in the ceiling, you need to make sure that everything does not fall out. And a simple rope helps a lot in this matter.
Many can say why it is needed?
I would have nailed a vapor barrier, and a wooden crate from below, as is done in the classics.
But I will say right away that I will not use any crate. As a basis for finishing the ceiling, I will use a metal profile. It will be fastened with a gap from the vapor barrier, so it will not play the role of supporting the insulation.
It turns out that all the insulation will hold on to these ropes and vapor barrier. And it seems to me that this will be enough. Write your opinion in the comments, what do you think?
