Shade tolerance for the corners of the garden. 9 📸 photo and description
Most greenhouse plants are only decoration portion with sufficient lighting. But what if you want to decorate the shady corners where the obstacle to sunlight are the walls of buildings, sheds, fences and tree crowns? The answer is obvious - to choose plants that grow well (and look!) In the shade.
All shade-tolerant plants do not fit within the publication. Add your own options in the comments!
Lilies of the Valley: big and small
In this section of the article, I decided to combine the two plants at once:
1. lily of the valley, Famous for its flowers, beads with a delicate scent. plant height does not exceed 15-30 cm:
2. "Lily garden" - Solomon's Seal. Externally, vaguely reminiscent of lily of the valley, but also the size of the flowers and the plant itself is much larger: bushes up to 60 cm. Time of flowering - the same as that of the lily of the valley:
Lily of the valley and Solomon's seal, despite the resemblance - not the closest relatives. Both plants belong to the family Asparagus, as well as the host, hyacinth or aloe. But different generations!
According to the comments, I noticed that a good half of the readers do not like or lily of the valley, no kupenu. The main complaint - a huge growth rate, due to which the flowers are considered weeds. There are 2 ways out: to regularly monitor the size of the plant or the plant as a "wild plants": eg, for the chaotic revival lawn under the apple trees.
Garden version of the 'Women's Happiness "
Arum rarely meet in the gardens. Hard to believe, but this is a direct relative of Spathiphyllum, popular culture room. Still, gardeners grow it, and even gave a romantic flower, a little scary the popular name of "dragon lily."
Notable not only for flowers but also the red bumps that are formed after withering. Therefore arum will decorate the garden almost the entire season, reviving shadow of berries:
By the way, the dragon lily completely unpretentious. They have adapted to grow in the forests of the Northern Hemisphere, for example, are found in the wild in Denmark. Therefore, once on the Russian site are unlikely to show freaks.
Soon I'll write a detailed article about the arum (the good, how to buy, how to grow better) - subscribe to not miss!
Aquilegia (Columbine): bloom all summer
Most shade-tolerant plants bloom in a relatively short time, but Aquilegia - a great exception to this disappointing statistics. Columbine perfectly adapts to any growth conditions. In the courtyard of my apartment building successfully it exists by itself.
Traditional painting Aquilegia - of course, a dark purple. This is the kind of unpretentious! But for those who like something original, there is a huge range of varieties: white, pink, two-color, double and even with a pattern of elongated petals.
Aquilegia disadvantage can only be called active self-seeding. The solution is simple: do not let to mature bolls or advance cut flowers to decorate the house a summer bouquet!
Tiarka: relative Heuchera with textured leaves
Tiarella can boast such deep colors like Heuchera. But it is charming in its own way. And it's important for us, feels great in the shade.
Shade flower that in shaded areas grows well, is rapidly increasing leaf mass and generates a large number of buds. It is also important that the majority of species tiarki are highly resistant to frost, unpretentious to the growing conditions does not require special care.
Ocharovshka-saxifrage
It seems that nature has created saxifrage especially for semi-shade and shade. The roots of charming plants are close to the soil surface and are sensitive to overheating. Under the bright sun there is a risk that they are "welded", and it is bad for the development of the flower. Bergenia grows very quickly and does not need a transplant for decades. Only once in a few years we will have to limit the area, the development of the plant, because it can grab extra.
In Badane, in my opinion, perfect everything. Its large leaves, painted in rich color, evergreen. In the spring, when the snow has melted, you only need to remove the stuck frost or rotting. Spring starts blooming bright pink Bergenia, transforming a shady area. Put a "Thumbs Up" if you liked at least one flower from the compilation, and subscribe to the channel!
