I had a safe in my apartment, and I want to buy it into the house, but only a more modern one: what did I manage to choose
The apartment in which we lived for 20 years was located on the 3rd floor of a brick building. When we bought it, a small niche was hollowed out in the wall in the room and a steel box with a door was welded in size, into which a simple lock was attached. Then the box was covered with wallpaper and cut out along the door. Our safe was completely invisible behind the blackout curtains. But the most important documents were kept in it, cash that was accumulated for the construction of a house, sometimes a serious amount was collected. And they felt pretty confident with such an impromptu safe, even when going on vacation or visiting.
But for the new house I wanted to buy a more serious safe. When it came time to choose, I saw that the choice of home storage is quite large.
We didn't need a large safe, we were looking for a small box for documents and money.
There are options with a type-setting electronic, digital lock, but my husband was categorically against it, he wanted to have a lock with a key.
There are also combined storages - with a set and an electronic key on the door. I liked this better, but the box seemed too big. And I don't see any point in such an expensive storage facility. The main thing for us is that the small safe is not in an accessible place and no one knows about its presence. This is the surest option for secure storage. And locks are not an obstacle for modern thieves. And there is nothing special to steal from us, all the money is instantly spent on equipment and decoration of the house, there are no savings.
All the boxes we looked at have thick walls, there is a shelf inside, and there is a warranty card for each.
The large drawers also have an internal small safe with a separate lock, but we didn't need one.
In the end, we settled on a small box of 25 by 28 centimeters. And they were satisfied with their purchase. The prices are not too high, it is quite possible to afford one day to buy such a storage and to know that documents, valuables are safe in it.
