Drawings of a modular workplace for a home workshop.
I have been using this workplace for 4 years. The design turned out to be successful and convenient.
I designed this workbench for use in small workshops. Then scroll through the gallery, it shows possible placement options for different workshop sizes.
Dimensions without hinged modules 1500x750x850. The width of 750 is enough for work, and besides it is just half of a standard plywood sheet.
Dimensions with hinged modules 2100x1500x850 (maximum).
Table base made from bars 60x40 mm. Side walls can be made of fiberboard or plywood. Boards were calculated at the bottom, but plywood can also be made.
The table with vice and tool compartments is made in a separate unit.
The table top is made of plywood or MDF and is glued or screwed on top of this block.
Support corners for the hinged modules are attached to the base.
The slats are connected at right angles in half a tree with glue and self-tapping screws. On the diagonal rail, the corners are sawn at 45 and attached to a dowel + glue or self-tapping screw + glue.
The installation locations of the support corners are designed so that any module can be installed in any place.
I hung these corners on the piano hinges. They have shown themselves to be reliable and for 4 years there have never been problems with them.
When folded, the corners look like this. They fold under a module with a table top and do not interfere. Furniture nuts are also embedded in this module. They serve to securely fasten the removable module.
I wrote about how the vice works in this workplace here.
Hinged modules made of two parts: base and table top. (scroll through the gallery)
Whatever hinges are, there is always the possibility that the module can sag on the support corners. Therefore, I made the table top of the module with adjustment relative to the base. (scroll through the gallery)
This is if the modules will be installed in different places. And if it hangs in only one place, then you can adjust it with various pads.
I showed the attachment of a circular saw earlier, but in those materials that can be downloaded below, it is.
The rip fence works like a clamp and is easy to install, remove and lock.
I told the main elements of the construction. Those who want to see in more detail how this workplace is arranged and it is possible to make it similar to themselves, can download a PDF file with detailed photos and drawings of various elements. Download.
I hope this material will help in arranging the workshop.
