My wife was unable to clear the soot from the pan, and I did it in 10 minutes!
I think in many houses there are old cast-iron pans that housewives cherish and appreciate, because nothing burns on them and it is on these pans that the best and most delicious pancakes are obtained. Their only drawback is that over time, the entire pan becomes covered with a thick layer of carbon and grease, which are very difficult to clean.
Our family also has such a favorite! We got the priceless frying pan from my grandmother, who was the only one in our family who saw it in its original and pure form. Over the decades, the frying pan has been covered with black carbon, but the quality of frying has remained at the highest level. My wife just loves to cook on it and one day she decided to tidy up the pan, cleaning it to a shine.
First, she soaked the pan in ordinary soapy water and tried to peel off the age-old carbon deposits with a knife and steel wool. After spending about 30 minutes, she realized that you definitely cannot clean this frying pan. Nagar has become so petrified that only a jackhammer will take it.
Then she decided to use one piece of advice that she read on the Internet. The pan had to be placed in a bucket of water and boiled in this way for about an hour.
In this case, it was necessary to add 100 g of soda ash to the water. When the hour passed, the wife again tried to empty the pan and, after another hour, simply gave up. Nagar did not want to be cleansed in any way. Perhaps it was necessary to boil the pan for a longer time to soften the carbon, but my wife did not want to repeat this experiment.
And then I decided to get down to business. I couldn't leave my spouse at a difficult moment, the more I knew one a very simple and quick way to clean the pan of deposits and grease. Setting the skillet on top of the brick, I turned on my gas burner and began firing it from all sides. He burned until the pan stopped smoking. It took me five minutes. By the way, already in the process of firing, pieces of carbon began to fall off. This operation could be carried out even faster at the stake.
Then you could dip the pan in water and clean it with a knife and a washcloth, but we guys are not looking for easy ways! I installed the brush on the grinder and turned on medium speed, and I cleaned the pan in a few minutes.
In total, I spent 10 minutes of my time and the frying pan was almost as good as new. Considering how old she is and what condition she was in, the result was not bad. Finally, I greased the skillet with oil and baked it in the oven so that nothing would burn on it during cooking. In the end, my wife is happy, and I was left with a sense of accomplishment!
