idea for storing cutting wheels for metal with a diameter of 125 mm

About three weeks ago I went to a neighbor's garage to ask for several cutting wheels for a grinder. Mikhalych (this is the name of the neighbor) reached for the plastic pipe fixed on the wall, and in an instant two metal discs appeared in his hands. A neighbor noticed my surprised look and immediately boasted of his organizer for storing 125 cut-off wheels. I really liked the idea of this homemade product, and when I bought myself a dozen disks, I decided to make the same organizer for myself.

To make it, a piece of plastic sewer pipe with a diameter of at least 125 mm was needed. I had a meter-long orange pipe with a diameter of 160 mm lying around and it was just right for this homemade product.

First of all, with the help of a grinder, I cut off a piece of pipe 13 cm long, sawed it lengthwise and cut out a strip 7 cm wide.

Then he glued the cut strip on top of one side and then on the other, squeezing the pipe with his hands. Thus, the diameter of the pipe decreased and became a little more than 125 mm (if you use a 125 sewer pipe, then its diameter will need to be increased on the contrary).

After waiting for the glue to fully set, I traced the inner diameter of the pipe on a small piece of plywood and marked the center with a cutting wheel.

outlined the inner diameter of the pipe and marked the center

And I also drew two parallel lines from the center, rounding the corners at the edge of the circle.

When the drawing was ready, I drilled the center hole with a step drill.

Then, using an electric jigsaw, I cut out the workpiece and sanded it with sandpaper.

After pre-drilling the holes, I installed the workpiece in the lower part of the pipe and fixed it with self-tapping screws.

Then, stepping back 10 mm (plywood thickness), I made a cut at the bottom of the pipe by half the circumference.

At the end, heating the knife blade with a lighter, I cut off the excess plastic and fixed the resulting structure on the wall of my workshop using a metal corner.

This gives me a handy organizer for 125 metal cutting discs! It remains only to completely fill it with content.
