I decided to save my wife's manicure and made a kitchen device that can be used to open a tin can without any problems
Manufacturers of cans, taking care of the consumer, come up with various devices for the convenience of opening them. Agree, opening a jar with a special ring is much easier than using a can opener. However, problems can arise even when opening a can with a ring, because it is hard to pry it with your finger, and not everyone has the strength to pull the lid.
Just recently, my wife had a problem: when she opened just such a can, she broke her nail, and before that she even managed to cut herself. To save my wife's manicure and protect her hands from cuts, I decided to mechanize the opening process and made a simple device that can be used to painlessly and very quickly open a can.
For this homemade product, you will need some piece of board or plywood 15 - 20 mm thick (I just had a piece of oak board lying around). First of all, you need to draw a semicircle with a radius of about 4 cm (if there is no compass, you can circle the lid for the cans).
Then, having secured the board with a clamp, we cut out the first part using a conventional jigsaw.
Now you need a small rail 15-20 cm long and equal to the thickness of the first workpiece.
We apply glue to the first part, distribute it evenly over the entire surface and glue the rail on top.
For better fixation, we clamp both parts with a clamp. When the parts are dry, you can additionally secure them with small nails or self-tapping screws.
Then we screw a screw or self-tapping screw into the end, after having drilled a hole. Additionally, you can slightly reduce the thickness of the cap by using a grinder or grinder.
That's all, the device is ready! To use it, you need to pry on the ring with a self-tapping screw and press on the handle. It turns out a kind of lever that quickly and effortlessly opens the can. My wife was delighted, because now her manicure is saved, and the process of opening cans is maddeningly simple!
