How to securely connect stranded (stranded) wires?

Automotive wiring uses copper stranded or, as they are most often called, stranded wires. Unlike single-wire (single-core) wires, they are soft, bend easily and can be hidden without any problems. However, stranded wires are significantly inferior in connection reliability (if you need to connect two wires together).

Recently in my car the trunk lid stopped opening (closing) remotely. The locks of other doors worked properly and I immediately suspected that the matter was either in the electric drive of the lock, or in the wiring itself.

After spending a couple of hours, I still did not find the cause of the breakdown (the electric drive of the lock turned out to be working, and at first glance the wiring was intact).

Without thinking twice, I decided to stop by my friend, an auto electrician who lived nearby and he found a malfunction in just a couple of minutes. The reason for the breakdown turned out to be commonplace: the wire came off at the junction. Apparently when I loaded the building materials into the trunk, I slightly hooked the wire and it broke off.

Earlier, when this happened, I whipped up the usual twist and wrapped the wire with electrical tape. Of course, such a connection is unreliable and at the slightest impact, the wires simply broke.

To avoid such situations, an acquaintance showed me a simple, but at the same time reliable way of connecting stranded wires. And now I will share it with you.

First of all, we remove more insulation (4 - 5 cm) and twist the cores of each wire well.

Then we fold the bare ends in half, leaving ponytails about 3 cm long.

Then we skip the end of the first (white) wire under the second (blue).

And then we insert the end of the second (blue) wire into the formed loop of the first (white) wire.

Then, firmly pressing the ends, we stretch the wires in different directions to tighten the loop.

As a result, you should get such a node.

At the end, it remains to twist the ends, insulate the wires and that's it, the connection is ready! This connection is very reliable and the wire will not break if you accidentally pull on it (it is more likely that the wire breaks somewhere else than together this connection).
