I changed the polycarbonate greenhouse for a real glass
Let me explain right away that I have the opportunity to purchase goods that, let's say, are not always affordable for a simple collective farmer. Before ordering a glass greenhouse, I read a lot of both useful and frank slag, but enough a lot to form an opinion that even the wife with her beloved mother-in-law could not change at the same time.
Five years ago, if you follow my articles, I moved my mortal body to the village. Yes, for permanent residence. Not right away, of course, but first I built a house, then a gazebo with a barbecue, and already when I began to live all year round, professionals bungled me a tandoor to a heap.
As soon as I moved to the village, in the first year I installed a polycarbonate greenhouse. The advantages seemed undeniable for the first three years of operation. The main advantage is cheapness. And in Russia, if it's a freebie, then you can sell any garbage, even if it's outright rubbish. So it is with a polycarbonate greenhouse.
Have you noticed that during the season the Internet is full of banners, advertising articles, etc. - buy a polycarbonate greenhouse - 25 years warranty. It seems to me that today such polycarbonate "treasures" are made by all and sundry, the main thing is that there is a cordless screwdriver in the household. I bought such a product. And what, 22,000 rubles with delivery and installation - for nothing, children. I forgot to say the size - 3X6 meters. And tomatoes for you, and cucumbers right up to the snow. But my polymer construction could not withstand the local winds and frosts near Moscow, the snow accumulated on the roof and did not want to slide down itself, and the spring sulfur checkers, with which I disinfected the greenhouse, did their muddy business, and then holes began to appear in the polycarbonate out of nowhere. The free greenhouse began to give me chagrin. And I decided to buy a new one, glass, durable and so on.
I was told from all sides that a "glass" greenhouse would never pay off. But what kind of ROI are we talking about? If a collective farmer counts the years spent in the greenhouse, tons of crops, plus fertilizers, water, and hired labor, then yes, the price of ITS cucumbers will be at the level of prices from ruble vegetable stores, where the price of a watermelon in a season starts at 500 rubles per kilo.
But with such calculations, you don't need to plant anything at all for your future harvest - immediately to the market for tomatoes and cucumbers, why scoff at yourself: bend under changeable weather, constantly fertilize something, water, spray.
But the polycarbonate structure, clouded by treatments and the sun, which hardly transmits light and does not keep the heat accumulated during the day, did not give me aesthetic pleasure at all. I looked once again in the fall at the "dream of a summer resident of all generations", ie to my polycarbonate and decided to change it.
And so I decided to build a new glass greenhouse. I already wrote that I studied the topic for several years, but the prices... they did not bite, they immediately killed on the spot at the monitor, just looking at the price tag on the site. The toad choked so that I had to clear my throat for a long time, when, after choosing the desired project, I received the final price for the greenhouse of my dreams.
But, intensifying the search, he tensed, distracted his strangler-toad with carrying cases, and made a choice.
If anyone is too lazy to read to the end, then the cost of my new glass vegetable lock was just over 300,000 rubles. The size remains the same as that of its predecessor, i.e. 3X6, only the new one became taller, not much, only half a meter. But I love high.
Now about my new darling.
Greenhouse made of tempered glass, made of high-strength galvanized metal pipe. Structures can be mounted on a previously prepared foundation. In my case, 18 metal pillars serve as the foundation. Glass 4 mm thick will withstand any kind of precipitation and sudden changes in temperature. Special seals for doors and transoms, which open automatically, prevent cool air from entering the room.
A completely transparent greenhouse provides plants with the necessary amount of light, while additional lighting devices can be installed inside. Glass ceilings have low thermal conductivity, which makes it possible to maintain a comfortable microclimate for plants from March to November.
Heavy-duty greenhouses lend themselves well to washing and cleaning from dirt and dust. The frame made of aluminum or galvanized metal does not corrode and can withstand significant loads.
