Simple carriage for milling table
In a previous post, I talked about my milling table made from laminate scraps. It's here.
In this table, I immediately made a profile for the carriage, with plans in the future to make a carriage with all sorts of adjustments and clamps.
But today I needed to make wide grooves in the details, and so as not to wait for this to happen. "further", I decided to make a simple carriage.
I found a suitable plywood, bar and rail for the profile.
I put all this together and got such a simple device.
Immediately I tried it out as a device at work.
For milling the groove, I decided to use a spiral cutter, which I took to Ali Express last fall.
The part is marked. The stop is installed parallel to the carriage and at such a distance that the first pass is obtained along the edge of the marking.
I immediately set the milling depth to the desired one - 10 mm. The 8 mm cutter did an excellent job with this depth.
For milling along the second edge of the marking, on the block of the carriage, I put a risk with a pencil.
And then several passes and the groove is ready.
It turned out to be convenient to work with this device. For this task, pressing the part with your hands is quite acceptable. For other tasks, you will probably need to press down with a clamp.
