Imagine this situation. You have a piece of wood to which you want to attach another piece of wood using a self-tapping screw. But at the same time, this process must be performed so that after the connection on the surface of the first part, the self-tapping head is not visible. This problem can be solved in various ways, including using various overlays for wood texture. However, there is one simple and "artisanal" way to hide the screw using only available tools and simple tools.

In order to implement the most cunning, fastest, and at the same time efficient way, you will need: wood glue or PVA, rubber hammer or mallet, chisel or chisel, vice, as well as a drill with a drill according to wood.

Use a chisel and rubber mallet

The first step is to mark the part, noting where our "secret" self-tapping screw should be. We retreat about 20 mm from this mark and place the chisel. Then carefully remove a strip of wood, about 30-40 mm long. This must be done in such a way that the removed piece remains connected to the tree, like falling shavings (as shown in the photo).

The next step is to use a drill to make a hole for the self-tapping screw. I recommend using a countersink, so that the screw head turns out to be "recessed" into the wood. After the self-tapping screw is screwed in and the two parts are fastened, the bent plastic of the tree should be put in place, having previously smeared with glue.

To make this connection strong, we fix the attachment point with a vice. Place a piece of polyethylene between the vise and the work piece or tape to prevent them from sticking together. Once completely dry, loosen the vise and remove. The place of gluing must be cleaned with fine-grain sandpaper: P180 or P200.

Important:this method has a drawback - it can be very problematic to disconnect the fastened parts in the future.
