What insects can live, without your knowledge, in your bathroom?

Woodlice. In fact, these are not insects, but crustaceans. They are harmless, do not carry diseases, do not cause any harm. After removing wood lice, you should take care of dryness in the bathroom, eliminate leaks and dry the room.

Silverfish. Small dark gray or white insects with a narrow body. There are three antennae on the tail, two more on the head. Such insects can grow up to 2 cm. As a rule, they live in dark, damp rooms. They feed on cereals, sugar, flour, as well as paper and glue, organic mold, garbage. They are safe for human health, but they can ruin some things. Silverfish move very quickly. They can be pressed down with ease. But waiting for each insect separately is meaningless. If you notice a congestion of these insects, it is worth using any insect control product.

Centipedes and flycatchers. These are insects with a long body and a large number of legs. They can live not only in dampness, but also in dry rooms. The main part of centipedes are predators that appear in those places where butterflies, silverfish and other insects already live. They are large enough, so their appearance scares people. In principle, they are harmless and are rare.

Butterflies, or sewer flies. These are velvet flies of small size up to 5 mm. They live in dampness, feed on rotted organic matter. Butterflies reproduce quite actively, laying about a hundred eggs, from which larvae appear. In a month, the larvae grow into an adult. Butterflies settle and live in colonies. In bathrooms, you can rarely find a large number of these insects, there are usually few of them. But in basements they can swarm. To get rid of butterflies in the bathroom, just use an insect spray.

To get rid of these insects, it will be enough to treat the bathroom with special insecticidal agents. In order to avoid their appearance, I would recommend monitoring the condition of the pipes, eliminating leaks and cracks that cause dampness.
