Making a bathroom cabinet. Workshop fixtures. Part 2
Greetings.
IN last part it was about the drawings and material for such a cabinet.
This cabinet is made in a home workshop with hand tools and fixtures.
In this publication, I will continue about the manufacture of cabinet parts and talk about the devices that I used.
At that time, I did not have a thicknessing machine and I planed parts on a homemade device based on an electric planer.
More details on how this device was made can be found in these publications: the first and second. This is a photo report, and a video clip of how this device was made, see below.
After the workpieces were aligned and brought to the same size in thickness, it was necessary to align the edge. I did this operation with a circular saw and a device that allows you to use it as a jointer.
You can learn more about this method look here.
Further, I simply cut the workpieces to size according to the width according to the project.
Some of the parts needed to be glued, so I decided to first glue the blanks for wide parts and while the glue dries, cut the remaining parts to length according to the parts list
The circular saw is installed in my universal workbench, drawings on it can be find here.
Before gluing the edges of the parts, I went through a plane with a removal of 0.5 mm.
Where it was necessary to glue two boards together, I used ordinary clamps.
For three or more workpieces, I used homemade clamps.
Drawings of these clamps can be found here.
More clearly the preparation of parts for the cabinet from not planed boards using homemade devices can be seen in the video.
The next part will be about the assembly of the cabinet body and the device to facilitate assembly.
Thanks for reading. I would be glad to have your support in the form of a like and a subscription to the channel. And see other publications on the channel.
