Why do I keep bunches of wormwood in the basement of the house
Greetings.
My family and I live in a private house. The main house is old, a log house for almost 100 years, and I added a few more rooms to it.
So even before I expanded the area with an extension, a not very pleasant story happened. Our then little daughter had small hematomas on her legs. The wife is in a panic that she does not know what to do, and then she found red dots on her feet as if she had been bitten.
We have already planned a trip to the doctors, as in the evening, sitting with a book in a chair, I suddenly feel a prick on the upper side of my foot, I look at some small insect that looks like a flea, biting me.
At that time, no pets were kept in the house. So where did the fleas come from?
I tell my wife about what happened, and I suggest that she is the reason ...
Do you think she calmed down? No more panic. She lived all her life in an apartment and never encountered such things. The question arose of what to do, how to get rid of the misfortune.
Then my mother joined the conversation and said that these were earthen fleas and in the village where she was born in the underground they always kept bunches of wormwood so that there was no such thing. He says that there is also wormwood in the underground of this house, only it seems that they have not been replaced for a long time.
The next day I climbed into the underground and there is definitely wormwood, only it doesn’t smell like anything.
Fortunately, it was autumn and wormwood could be found in the area. I grabbed some brooms and pushed them into the corners of the basement.
For several days, we kept an eye on whether fleas were jumping. All right. There were no new bites, and the marks from the old ones quickly disappeared.
Now I regularly update the wormwood in the subfield, not every year, but every two or three years for sure.
