Private house! With these words, the imagination draws a wonderful "picture" with a cozy house and a large yard, lawns, a swimming pool, a gazebo, a barbecue and a bathhouse! This is partly true! A private house is freedom, peace and quiet!
I lived in a private house with my parents. For several years he lived in a private house with his wife. And I declare with confidence that yes, a private house is a huge number of advantages! But there are several drawbacks that for some reason no one talks about. And these disadvantages, I can tell you, are tipping the scales in favor of an apartment, and not a private house.
Of course, everyone decides for himself what he likes best. But still you need to know about the advantages and disadvantages of each type of housing, and not build the illusion that a private house is happiness without problems!
I will share with you the disadvantages of a private house, which became a real problem for me! These disadvantages more and more often lead me to think that an apartment is better than a home!
A private house is like a "vicious circle"
You know, a private house is an endless amount of work. Moreover, the work is as if "looped", "bewitched". As soon as you finish doing one thing, you have to start something else. Did something else - you need to redo the first. Etc!
And there is no need to say that it is enough to do it once with high quality, and everything will be fine! This does not work in a private house!
There is a bridge in San Francisco. A special team has been hired for him. So, the brigade tints and repairs the bridge, all the time moving from the beginning of the bridge to the end. And as soon as it reaches the end, it unfolds and begins to paint and repair towards the beginning. And it lasts forever. Vicious circle! As in a private house!
It's good if you have free time and you like such work. And if not, then it all spills over into a terrible life.
"Handyman"
In a private home, you need to be a jack of all trades - a professional in everything! No other way! In the house you are a builder, a finisher, a roofer, a plumber, and an electrician!
In the apartment, if your electricity was cut off, something happened to the heating, etc. - these are the problems of housing and communal services or the management company. In the house you are left with your problem one on one. The heating is electric, suddenly the lights were turned off - nobody cares! It was necessary to carry out gas for millions!
I have knowledge and skills in construction and renovation. But all this is enough for me at work. At home, you still want to relax, and not continue to be a jack of all trades. But calling outside experts on a regular basis is both expensive and unwise. A doctor will not invite another doctor to him for money to give an injection! He will do it himself! So I - come from a paid job to an unpaid home job.
And if you don't understand anything in construction, then everything is even more difficult! You yourself cannot figure it out, and you cannot control the masters.
It is impossible to leave ...
This is not a problem for my parents now. But for me and my family - a problem. The fact is that a private house cannot be left for a long time. Fly on vacation for a couple of weeks or a month?! Nope! Will not work! What about the dog? And what about the garden and flowers in summer? And heating in winter? You never know what will happen! There is no one to help - all loved ones are far away!
And the private house also attracts various scammers and thieves. The lights don't burn for a long time - why don't they come in. Although there is nothing to steal, breaking glass or removing a section of the fence is a nice thing for some.
Despite this, I still plan to live in the house. But thoughts about the apartment come more and more often! Maybe from fatigue ...
