What to build a house from? What material to choose for construction
We usually start #construction at home - once and for all. I would like to approach such a responsible business seriously. And the first question - what is the house to build from? What #building material use? Today I will talk a little about block building. So!
What materials are offered for building a block house?
- Brick- fired clay with additives.
- Screening block from fine gravel and cement in proportions of 9 to 1.
- Basaltic andesite blockIs a crushed rock with cement in proportions of 9 to 1.
- Foam block - contains cement, sand and foam.
- Gas block includescement (1/5) lime (1/5), quartz sand (3/5), some aluminum and water.
- Heat block - "Layered nature" from the facade, two andesite-basalt blocks with PSBS.
- Expanded polystyrene concrete - as part of a concrete solution mixed with expanded polystyrene.
What factors should influence the choice of material?
The house from the selected material should be:
- high quality and strong
- warm
- adequate in cost
- not mold or attract mice and insects.
Now let's move on to comparison by important criteria.
Mice, insects - you don't have to worry about it. There is no organic matter in block materials, so blocks are not attractive to insects and mice.
Fortress
Below in the figure you can find information about the density. The number after the "M" shows how many kilograms 1 square centimeter of this or that material can withstand.
It turns out that the strongest is brick (150 kg), and the “weakest” one is expanded polystyrene concrete (25 kg).
Our wall is blocks stacked on top of each other. The weakest point is the bottom of the lowest block, which accounts for all the pressure of the house. But this does not mean that it is not worth building from expanded polystyrene concrete or foam block. Of course, you can build. The strength of any of the above materials is ten times greater than the possible load that a house of 1-2 floors with a ceiling height of 3 meters gives. You don't have to worry about the load. The houses will be strong. BUT!Provided that the foundation is designed and laid in accordance with all requirements!
The cost
I have reflected the approximate cost in the gallery in the photo below. Scroll.
To this is the cost of styling. But the price jump is huge, depending on the region, professionalism and other factors.
Warmly
See the photo. Here, the lower the number, the warmer the block. Please note that there is a direct relationship between density and thermal conductivity. The denser the material, the colder it is.
The average thickness of warm walls from any block should be at least 300 mm. In our reality - 400 mm, because all blocks are multiples of 200.
Screening block, brick, andesite-basalt block, laid out in a wall 40 cm thick, it is additionally worth insulating with cotton wool 10 cm thick.
Heat block used without additional insulation.
Expanded polystyrene concrete, aerated concrete, foam concrete it is enough to insulate with cotton wool 5 cm. Or you can make walls 500 mm. In this case, in severe frosts, condensation may appear. But, in my opinion, this is the best and most convenient option in which we save on insulation, brackets, etc.
And what material is suitable for your home - it's up to you! If you have any questions, write in the comments!
