Who Steals the Electricity? No, not neighbors! 7 devices that wind up the counter every day. Can this be fixed?

I wonder how much you pay for electricity? Personally, I have 5 people in my family - me, my spouse and three children. The amount of payment for electricity is not at all small. And the older the children get, the more needs for electrical costs appear. After all, you can't do without a TV, tablet, phone or smart watch. Yes, and my wife and I actively use electrical appliances - from small chargers to large household appliances.

To be honest, sometimes it seems to me that neighbors have connected to our meter)) Therefore, the number of kilowatts is so large)) Well, of course, this is nonsense!

Puzzled by the issue of energy consumption, I learned that there are “thieves” in our homes! But these are not neighbors))

Who are they?

1.TV set

TV - this device has taken over the world. There are TVs in almost every apartment and every house. Often there are 2-3 TV sets per family.

Almost always, the TV is turned off using the remote control. But it remains in sleep mode and wastes electricity. One "off" TV consumes approximately 25 W / day or 700 W per month!

2.Digital or satellite TV box

As a rule, the set-top box or receiver is connected to the TVs, and together with it they do not disconnect from the network, consuming about 150-200 W / day. That is, up to 6 kW per month.

3.A computer

The same is with a stationary computer. It seems to be off. But one computer plugged into an outlet manages to steal 100 watts. That is approximately 3 kW per month.

4.Fridge

What is more important in an apartment than a TV? Fridge! Unfortunately, you cannot turn it off from the network. But the refrigerator connected to the network constantly uses 750 W / day for operation. And this is approximately 22-23 kW per month.

And there is one caveat:the warmer it is in the kitchen, the harder it is for the refrigerator to work, and the more electricity it spends. From which the logical conclusion follows - do not place the refrigerator near a stove, hob or oven.

There are also a couple of instruments. Their power consumption primarily depends on the frequency of use. BUT these devices, like the previous ones, very often remain plugged into the outlet. Although this is completely unnecessary.

5 and 6. This is an electric kettle and a washing machine.

Washing machine in sleep mode can steal about 20-30 W / day. If you spin a half-empty typewriter, then naturally about frequent work and the amount of electricity spent will be higher. But if you are saving up laundry. And then tightly clog the washing machine, that's not very good either. Because the energy consumption for such work is higher for a washing machine.

About the kettle:do not boil a full kettle if you only need to make a cup of tea. It will be both economical and healthier.

7. Charging device

These "babies" consume little. Approximately 1-1.5 W / day. But, as a rule, every day we use not one charge, but several at once. And many of us also leave them plugged in. It is not only not economical, but also dangerous!
