It turned out that the matter was not at all in the power tool. Hammer drill review

Greetings.

This drill has been "living" with me for more than eight years and is used, albeit occasionally, but not so rarely.

Initially, I bought it to try working with wood: to do decor, small milling, etc.

The first experience was in making a beech wood writing pen.

At that time (8 years ago) inexpensive rotary cutters were not on sale in my city, and I considered it unreasonable to order expensive equipment when you do not know what to do with it.

Therefore, this drill was used sporadically and I did not consider it to be some kind of high-quality and necessary tool. And yet...

Often this drill helped in sharpening band saw blades, sharpening hacksaws, dressing circular saws for circular saws. For such sharpening, I most often used diamond-coated wheels.

I have also tried working with wood using sandpaper attachments. This method suited me, it began to work out, only when using this drill together with sandpaper, difficulties arose. At low speeds, the machine stopped, and at high speeds, burns were obtained.

As a result, I used this wood drill at medium speed and short-term touches, which is not very convenient.

Nevertheless, several projects were done in this way, and in order to make it more convenient to work, I began to come up with various homemade products for working with sandpaper.

On this homemade product, the highest speed is about 5000 rpm, which is even a lot for sandpaper.

I was somehow so used to working with sandpaper nozzles that when I bought sets of burrs, I tested them on a homemade product, but the speed for cutters on it is still not enough.

Now I decided to check how these cutters work with my drill Hammer. And that's what I found out.

Tungsten carbide cutters from China, they work well on it, but there is a noticeable vibration.

The HSS cutters have performed surprisingly well and with little or no vibration.

I also have a set of cutters for CNC and with a drill Hammer they also performed very well.

As a result of these tests, I came to the conclusion regarding this drill that the point is not at all power tool, and in the right equipment for specific tasks and also in knowing how to work with with this tool.

In order to try working with a similar tool, this model would be a good choice. The model is inexpensive, reliable (It serves 8 years without breakdowns, with fairly regular use) the equipment is good.

I purchased this drill in a case, with a flexible shaft, a clamp, a stand for hanging the drill and a small set of accessories.

Now such a model is also sold and the complete set, in my opinion, is even a little more extensive.

This is a household tool, it has its drawbacks: at low speeds it loses a lot in power and the engine heats up during prolonged operation.

On the other hand, the tool is inexpensive with a good package and is quite suitable for initial acquaintance.

You can watch the drill in action from the video clip below.
