I made a new emphasis for the machine: a jointer and a thickness gauge in one. I show you how it fits well on my workbench.
Greetings.
I already talked about this machine earlier on the channel. The machine is already a year old and it copes with its functionality.
Of course, he also has disadvantages: not a very good emphasis for a jointer. But on the other hand, the machine was installed very well in my universal workplace. (Scroll through the gallery)
I talked about one of the solutions for the jointer stop on the channel, and I gave drawings for the universal workplace. Links to these publications will be at the end of the article.
By the way, my lathe was successfully installed at the same place, right at the desired height. True, now I made a separate cabinet for the lathe and placed it in my corner.
So now the jointer with a thickness gauge is located as one of the workbench modules. I lowered the module brackets so that the machine was slightly lower than the table level and did not interfere when working with other modules.
And I decided to make the stop for the jointer removable and fix it directly to the workbench table.
I made it to a fixed angle of 90 ° since there was no need for a different setting yet, but on occasion it is not difficult to make an adjustable angle.
The design of the stop is very simple: a small platform made of plywood, which is screwed to the table with lambs, furniture frames are installed in the table for this. A long strip of plywood is bolted to this platform. The angle is set by the plywood corners. And on the side of the jointer there is an additional laminate plate. (Scroll through the gallery)
Such an emphasis is removed and installed very quickly. You do not need to adjust the angle, set and plan. The machine itself does not interfere with the work on the circular and the router, the module with which is installed next to the jointer. When working on a jointer-thicknessing tool, of course, the module with a router must be removed, but before that I never had it all the time, only when I was working on it.
As I already said, this machine Bison SRF-204-1500 has been working with me for a year. An overview of the machine, as it showed itself in work, the pros and cons that it was reworking can be viewed in this article.
A variant of altering the stop for a similar jointer, which I found from the Spaniard Suso Caamanho (Suso Kamanyu), can be viewed in this article.
And the drawings of the universal modular workplace, which I have been using for the fifth year already, can be viewed here.
Thanks for reading. I would be glad to have your support in the form of a like and a subscription to the channel. And see other publications on the channel.
Alexander.
P.S. I also invite you to your site.
