The parents were sent to a sanatorium, and they themselves arranged for them to renovate the kitchen. Wardrobes, couch - everything they wanted

The kitchen in the parents' apartment was in urgent need of repair, and the children decided to give them a gift - to completely renovate the "catering block".

Of course, they asked in advance what they would like to see their kitchen - in what shades, with what furniture. After that, they presented them with a gift: they bought vouchers to the sanatorium. And they themselves began to repair.

The kitchen is rectangular, but there is a ledge to the left of the entrance, which reduces the length of the wall. Therefore, at first, they made careful measurements in order to place the sink, cutting surface, stove, additional floor cabinet and refrigerator in one line.

Nowadays, buying kitchen furniture is not difficult - after all, there are modular sets for rooms of any size and configuration. We ordered a set of the required sizes, including wall cabinets - closed and with a shelf - for dishes and household appliances. Above the stove left a place for the hood.

Older people expressed a desire for the kitchen to be light, so we chose the panels in the color of light wood. The countertop for the work surfaces was decided to be made dark gray.

While the headset was being manufactured, they took up the actual room. Having placed the sockets in the right places, they began to decorate the ceiling and walls. From the possible options, we chose drywall and painting.

The height of the room is small, so the best solution for the ceiling is white. The walls were painted in light beige, which is in perfect harmony with many shades.

For the kitchen "apron" we chose MDF - moisture resistant, smooth, and most importantly, inexpensive material.

To diversify the color scheme, it was decided to lay tiles on the floor, also with a wood cut pattern, but in gray.

The kitchen is not only a room for cooking, but also a meeting place and meeting place for family members, it should be not only functional, but also comfortable. Therefore, special attention was paid to the recreation area.

A dining table was ordered with a table top made of the same material as the cabinets, and an unusual corner - with soft seats and a backrest made of MDF (a roll call with the "apron"). Corners are no longer in vogue, but parents wanted convenience, not in fashion trends. There will be soft cushions on the back later.

For decoration, a panel of the same light wood was placed on the wall behind the corner.

In the kitchen, as in any room, lighting plays an important role. We placed spotlights on the ceiling, made LED lighting above the work surface. And in the dining area, above the table, they placed several lamps on long cords - it turned out to be cozy and stylish.

As a result of diligence, the kitchen came out compact, spacious and as if filled with air. There is no bulky furniture in it, it is functional and comfortable. It is also important that the initiators of the repair did not incur large costs - they used budget materials that are quite affordable. And the best reward for this was the surprise, joy and gratitude of the parents.
