10 worst renovation solutions - take note
It is necessary to spend a lot of effort and money on repairs. At the same time, everyone tries to do everything as best as possible. However, it soon becomes clear to many that some ideas were not effective enough and even began to spoil the overall picture of the premises.
Of course, not all of the "failed" solutions described here are relevant for every apartment. There are some layouts where they will be acceptable. But nevertheless, it is worth considering before renovation and carefully weighing the feasibility of using such ideas.
So, what solutions are not the most practical in apartment renovation.
1. Combining a room with a kitchen. Since food is constantly being prepared in the kitchen, there are correspondingly many smells and vapors. If you combine the kitchen with another room, then in the latter there will be a constant smell of soot, various foods, as well as the presence of noise. The hood only partially saves from this problem.
2. Enlarging the room with a pantry or a built-in wardrobe.
If the closet or closet is constantly empty, then this is a good idea. Otherwise, all the rubbish previously in the pantry will spoil the overall look of the room. Trying to increase the area of living space, you simply clutter it up in everyday life.3. Combining a bathroom. This idea fails if more than two people live in the room. This layout will provide a constant queue at the bathroom door. If the toilet and bathroom in the apartment are initially separate, then think well before combining them.
4. Instead of major repairs - cosmetic, but expensive. This opinion is incorrect. All outdated or damaged communications, dry windows or weak wiring must be replaced. Otherwise, the new finish will deteriorate over time and cosmetic repairs will need to be done again, and very soon.
5. Lack of furniture placement plan. If the owners have not decided how to arrange the furniture before the repair is completed, then there may be a problem with incorrectly located sockets or the presence of a warm floor under the cabinet. The furnishing plan should be drawn up immediately.
6. Few sockets. If there is not enough money for the installation of several outlets in each room, then many refuse them. However, this is wrong. You can get out of this situation by placing not several outlets in one place, but one at a time in different corners of the room.
7. Embossed or velor wallpaper for a children's room. A child will surely pick such interesting wallpapers. If, nevertheless, parents want to glue such wallpapers, then at least you should not do this near the baby's bed. Be aware that embossed wall coverings are dust collectors. In nurseries, it is best to use paint so that the walls can be easily repainted or washed if the kid leaves his art on them.
8. Dark floor. If many people think that the dark floor will not be easily soiled, then this is a mistake. It will be the same as the others, but the interior may suffer from the gloomy flooring. It is worth choosing the golden mean: walnut, brown or gray floor. In addition, on the dark, every speck of dust is always visible.
9. Sharp-edged door handles. Despite their beauty, these handles can hurt the hand well. That is why they should be discarded. Especially if there are children in the house.
10. Trust in the masters. If the repairs were done by specialists, this does not mean that they could not be mistaken. Before paying for the work, it must be checked for quality. So, the floors should be flat, the tiles should be well kept, and the sockets with switches work properly.
All these nuances seem trivial, but they are the ones that are most often found in repairs, especially if the tenants are doing them for the first time and do not have the proper experience.
