The floor in the small cozy hall of this house was tiled with tiles of a boring brick color, which did not fit into the interior in any way, and the hostess decided to update it.

To change the aesthetic appearance of a tiled floor, it is not necessary to remove the old tiles and install new ones. Currently, this can be done with chalk-based paint, this method was used by the hostess.

The painting was preceded by a preparatory period. If the seams between the tiles were crumbling, it was necessary to remove them and grout in a new way. If the seams were in order, then they should have been painted over separately, which was done.

The tile itself was also prepared - thoroughly washed and degreased. After that, a layer of chalk paint was applied to the floor and allowed to dry.

However, the plain gray-blue floor did not satisfy the hostess, she wanted something unusual and creative. Applying fantasy, she created a completely different image in her performance.

The floor was completely repainted deep black. Above with the help of a stencil were applied "shining" stars - as if far and near. To protect this beauty, two coats of varnish had to be applied on top, which gave the floor a matte effect with a slight sheen.

The result exceeded all expectations! Discreet shades of gray and natural wood, combined with the "starry sky" on the floor, turned the hallway into a work of art.

With the help of chalk paints, you can make inexpensive repairs, radically change the interior, decorate surfaces with drawings and ornaments. Such paint can be made independently - based on acrylic or latex, but it is better to trust reliable companies.
